Gardening as spiritual practice

in honor of my father’s yartzeit, as he was an avid gardener. Why is the tractate about prayer listed in the order of agriculture in the gemarra? why does the second paragraph of the shema, when it speaks about G-d’s blessings, focus specifically on rain? why were Adam’s consequences for eating from the tree concerned specifically with agriculture?
